Created a bump map in photoshop for the screws and scratches. Then duplicated them up the door and modeled a simple door handle and clasp.
Today just been working on the molding and trim around the house for where the doorways will go. Then I'll have to repeat this for nine doorways, so I wanted to get it to look right first.
I created a tileable texture for the kitchen floor. The texture was taken as a picture on my iphone and then aligned in photoshop. For the spec/bump map I just used the "Select > Color Range" to select the lighter values in the image. I used marquee select and filled the little grout sections in between with 50% gray. I used a blinn material with the b&w texture on the right for the spec and added a low bump value. I wanted the sheen to show some detail when the light hits, so I lowered the eccentricity on the specular channel so it wasn't over exposed with the physical sun and sky and voilà.
